What is 48 Hour Film Project?
48 Hour Film Project is an annual international film competition based in DC where teams of filmmakers are challenged with making a film in just 48 hours. Teams are assigned a required genre, character, prop, and line of dialogue to be included in their film. This competition is held in nearly 130 cities every year with about 5,000 teams participating. Top films in each city then get screened at Filmapoloza, an annual film event with a final award of the best film of the year.
High School 48 Hour Film Project
My main role at 48 was to create the high school version of the 48 Hour Film Project. When I started my internship, it was just an idea but throughout my internship, I was able to create a website (as seen below), find contacts to spread the news, and organize its' social media presence. The High School 48 included a high school only team competition, as well as a short script contest, where individuals wrote short scripts with the same requirements, a genre, a character, a prop, and a line of dialogue.
